I have been on the MedTech Portal team this year and really enjoyed improving and building this platform. It is also a role that I am very familiar with, in which the experience will be useful. Changes made by us (this year's portal team) that include reformatting the website, starting a regular article publication and even initiating the podcast, with the first episode due to launch in March. I have many more ideas to implement in the next year to come, which would include re-starting a newsletter for all of our members to inform them of coming events, new updates on the portal or interesting resources that could be available for them.

I envision MedTech Portal to have a unique strategic position in the future of UCL MedTech Society as an initiative that creates opportunities for continuous audience exposure and brings together a close-knit community of members. There are 2 main things I aim to achieve if I became the MedTech Portal Chair:

1) Building on top of our MedTech Talks Podcast Channel, we should start a series called "Models, Reasoning and Mind". All models have assumptions; anyone's reasoning has their own blind spots. Perhaps it is the collection of knowledge from various background and disciplines, described as "Mind", that allows us to minimize such limitations and yield innovative solutions to some of the modern healthcare challenges.

Having members ranging from Medicine to Law to Psychology, I believe it is one of the most important missions of UCL MedTech to initiate conversations about interdisciplinary collaboration and encourage our members to think ahead of time through this initiative.

2) Streamline MedTech Portal with other events including our two main conferences to keep our members engaged throughout the year. Content would include podcasts, past speakers recordings, and internship opportunities provided by our partner companies network.

Given my experiences as Corporate Relations Officer this year, I have developed the network and people skills necessary to make the above come true.

Feel free to come to our Hustings to learn more about my experiences.
