The MPBE society has been providing our department with a sense of community and allowing students to collaborate and make the most out of their years at UCL since its inception last year. This idea of a student community within our department intrigued me when it was formed, and I have been very active in the society ever since.

This year, I was lucky enough to be the society's treasurer. With my efforts in budgeting and financing, we were able to make the most of our limited budget. The financial direction that I have advised our committee to take has allowed us to do what we were unable to do last year, such as printing hoodies and tote bags. I will continue working hard to ensure our student crowd benefits from our budget.

I believe that I should be the society's president next year since I have been very active within the committee and want to keep working for my fellow medical physicists and biomedical engineers. My influence as president would allow us to plan events more frequently and have a stronger sense of community within our department than ever.
