I am Veronica Berger, a second-year Biomedical Sciences student. As a female and overseas student, I understand the importance of diversity and inclusivity, and I am committed to creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, involved, and heard. My experiences as a course representative in my first year provided me with valuable insights into the needs and concerns of students. I have provided support to my peers by signposting them to the appropriate services. If elected as Welfare Officer, my priorities will include:
- Promoting mental health-I will seek to provide support for students who may be struggling with mental health issues
- Ensuring inclusivity-I will work to ensure that the Life Science Society is a welcoming and inclusive space for all members regardless of their background, gender, or sexual orientation
- Supporting international students-As an overseas student myself, I understand the challenges that international students face when studying abroad. I will work to provide support for international students
- Building a sense of community-I believe that a strong sense of community is essential for wellbeing and academic success. I will work to organize activities that bring members of the Life Science Society together
I am passionate about promoting student welfare and creating a supportive environment for all members of the Life Science Society. If elected, I will ensure that the needs and concerns of all members are heard and addressed.
