K-POP Society: Vocal Leader

Hello, fellow members of our beloved k-pop society! I'm Sama, and some of you may recognise me from some vocal pieces during our showcases this year (or at least I hope so), or perhaps from the sidelines of our RPD events. As someone who isn’t very dance-inclined but adores the k-pop genre with a passion, I feel that our society could do more to include those of us who prefer the more vocal, rap, and live music side of the genre.

As the role of vocal leader is a relatively new one, I'd like to take the chance to be innovative and introduce some new ideas (both my own and those of my friends) that we could incorporate into the society such as:

• non-live vocal covers, to be uploaded on youtube
• vocal classes (kind of similar to our dance classes)
• karaoke nights at mully’s  
• k-pop society band (if we’re feeling ambitious) 

We could also consider collaborating with other societies with more live music experience to help make these dreams come to life, including the live music society, musical theatre society, and the Korean society band.

I really do think that k-pop society is one of the most welcoming and just overall fun societies at our uni, and I’ve made some of my closest friends through the society. Therefore, I want to create more opportunities for members who may be a little reluctant to really be able to get involved.
