Danilo Paganelli

Hey! My name is Danilo and I would love to be your Welfare Officer again! Having been the Welfare Officer of the Irish and Northern Irish Society for the past 2 years, I would love to stay and help the transition of committees and to make next year amazing! Some of my plans if elected include:

1.) Weekly welfare checks on the groupchat

2.) Monthly welfare events (such as speed friendings, games nights, movie nights) so that our members can make new friends and get to know eachother etc.

3.) Setting up and getting funding for Beginners' Irish language classes and setting up conversation practise/meetups for more proficient speakers

4.) Collabing with other Irish societies in the UK (and around the world!) online, and possibly setting up a penpal scheme!

5.) Hosting some online socials in order to appeal to members that have to commute or are alumni

I am particularly most passionate about setting up the language classes in order to showcase and promote the teaching and learning of the amazing but Endangered Irish language.

However, my most important responsibility will be being there for our members. I promise to always be there for every member and help as much as I possibly can, whether it's just a talk or signposting or emailing teachers for support/extension support or anything that I can do to help – I will be there for you all. Life is hard and that is why support is so important
