Denton Philtjens

My name is Denton, and I am running for Outreach VP of the UCL Investment Society. Having been a part of UCLIS for the past 2 years, first as a mentee and then as outreach executive, I understand the importance UCLIS plays at UCL and hope to have a pivotal role in helping the society expand over the next year.

In my past year as outreach executive, I’ve led inter-departmental talks, organized collaborations with LSE and KCL and worked on attracting speakers to the flagship finance conference. I’ve thus worked closely with the rest of the committee, which has helped me understand the society’s inner workings and intricacies.

If I were to become Outreach VP, my priorities would be:

  • More collaborations and socials with other departments, societies and universities
  • Bring back the alumni dinner, to connect keen members with industry experienced alumni
  • Host more events targeting STEM and non-finance students

I am an outgoing, hard-working, finance-passionate individual, and thus for my final year at UCL, I would be honored to give back to the society which has greatly shaped me as an individual and an aspiring professional.

Krish Raj

As a candidate for the Outreach Officer position in our university's Investment Society, I am excited to present my election manifesto.

Here are my top priorities and goals for the coming year:

  1. Expand our reach: I believe that the Investment Society has the potential to reach even more students on campus, and I will work tirelessly to make that happen. I will explore new marketing channels and create compelling campaigns that will resonate with our target audience.
  2. Engage with the community: Building relationships with our community is key to our success. I will work to create meaningful partnerships with local businesses, investment firms, and other organisations to provide valuable opportunities for our members. I will organise networking events, connect students with alumni and professionals in the field, and provide guidance on career opportunities in finance and investment.
  3. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment: Diversity is a strength, and I believe that our society should reflect that. I will work to ensure that our events and activities are welcoming and inclusive to all students, regardless of their background or experience level.
  4. Provide valuable resources and support: As an outreach officer, I understand the importance of providing valuable resources to our members. I will work to bring in guest speakers, organise workshops, and provide access to investment resources that will help our members succeed.
  5. Promote transparency and accountability: I believe that our society should operate
Anna Konietzko

Hello everyone! My name is Anna Konietzko, and I'm currently a First-Year Representative of the Investment Society. I'm excited to announce that I'm running for the position of Vice President of Outreach.

Throughout this academic year, I've gained valuable experience in the Outreach Division on numerous occasions. I've co-led the Society's Instagram account and organized the "How to Start Sustainably Investing" event with Jessica Robinson.
During the UCL Finance Conference, I was also responsible for capturing it through photography and communicating with guests, receiving positive feedback.

Moving forward, I have following plans for our society:

First, I want to utilize our network of alumni more by organizing networking events such as selective dinners. These would provide members with essential insights into the alumni's career development, and their experience working in a specific field and industry.
Secondly, I aim to strengthen our connections to potential employers through events such as Coffee Chats and skill showcases. Our successful collaboration with Point72 is an example of this, and I hope to build on this success to help our members make valuable connections and gain insight into potential employers.
These efforts will also help enhance the Finance Conference by involving more engaging sponsors, adjusting time management to make it more concise, and creating interactive events such as Stock Pitch Competitions.

Thank you for considering my candidacy!
