Mehak Swani

Hey everyone!

My name is Mehak, and I’m currently a first-year PPE student from Singapore. I believe Indian society has created a vibrant, lively, and encouraging community for people from various backgrounds, and as Sponsorship Officer, I would like to help carry on this legacy.

I think sponsorships and finance are integral parts of running events like Jashn and Dhamaal, after all the bigger the budget the bigger the bar. If I were given the opportunity to be your sponsorship officer, I would introduce more collaborations with societies, and also organize fundraising events, such as a charity cook-off, which would encourage member participation and raise money for a good cause.

My experiences as a first-year representative for Women in finance, and Outreach Director for TEDx have honed my financial management acumen and enabled me to form connections with large firms. These skills would allow me to organize events that appeal to and are enjoyable for all members of the society.

Lastly, I hope to increase the funding for socials so members will have access to a larger community of Indians at UCL, and form connections that last.
