Sohum Sen

Hi everyone, I'm Sohum, a third-year Mathematical Computation student, and I'm excited to apply for the position of Head of Sponsorship for Indian society.

Over my three years at UCL, I have held various society committee leadership roles ranging everything from Director to Treasurer.

As the Head of Sponsorship, I'm passionate about building relationships and generating deals to bring new initiatives to life.

My experience as Treasurer has provided me with the skills to build a reliable network of sponsors. As Treasurer, I've worked closely with the President and senior team to achieve our objectives and accomplish the following:

  • Growing our member base to an all-time high (300+), making us one of the most active and vibrant societies on campus.
  • Securing large sponsorships (£3k+) for the first time ever, allowing us to fund more initiatives and increase our scale.
  • Being the go-to contact for all matters with the Students Union ranging from navigating form submissions to liaising with them whilst on tight deadlines and managing finances.

My strengths in organization, communication, and teamwork make me a strong fit for the Head of Sponsorship role. I am confident that with my skills and experience, I can create outstanding experiences for all members of Indian society.

Aryan Saraf

The role for Head of Sponsorship would be the perfect position for me in UCL's Indian Society. It's an integral part of the committee helping to bring funding and sponsorships from well-known brands to allow for exciting events to happen and promote a greater connectivity within the society.

As an individual interested in working with different companies and brands, this role would be exactly what I am looking for. Having the ability to maintain good relationships and connections is a particular skill of mine and hope to apply this when searching for sponsorship deals and keeping them in the long-term. This focus to detail and maximising a brand's image stems from my experience in the hospitality industry. This would greatly benefit UCL Indian Society allowing its members to enjoy large-scale events at a lower price and bring greater awareness of the society helping it grow even further. My particular skillset also includes good organisation and negotiation skills enabling me to keep in contact with various brands and secure deals whilst optimisting the benefits of both parties.

I also have some invaluable experience in liaising with companies in the past.I have previously spoken to brands like OnePlus having sent multiple emails back and forth resulting in them sponsoring a school event. I also possess many leadership qualities having led a sports team in my previous school. Recently having helped organise Jashn, has given me the knowledge on what deals I can make.
