In Aid of UNICEF Society: Fundraising Officer

I’m Viviane, and after being an active member in this society in 1st year, in which I have enjoyed contributing by baking for bake sales, volunteering in the book sales, and going to talks and socials. I would love to play a more active role in 2nd year as Fundraising Officer. Seeing my mom work for UNICEF for the past 25 years has shown me from a young age the impact individuals and groups raising money can have on children worldwide - something I hope to show to other members of our society when they fundraise.

My experience fundraising for UNICEF began in primary school, where I raised over $20,000 USD for the Trick or Treat for UNICEF campaign. I empowered students to participate and help improve the lives of children globally. I distributed/gathered collection boxes, counted the funds received, and organized several bake sales to further contribute. 

I also undertook a work experience with UNICEF as a Marketing Research Group Leader. I worked collaboratively with other students to brainstorm ways for UNICEF to engage with youth worldwide and led a meeting with UNICEF staff to deliver a presentation.

I am confident that my experience and collaboration, leadership, and communication skills will help in a position made for organizing fundraising events. I believe that fundraising is core and is a fun component to our society. My aim is to organize more bake sales, book sales, pub quizzes, and fun nights to raise money for this organization!
