Being head choreographer for the Frostbite 22/23 season has been so incredibly fun that I would love to have the opportunity to serve as your 23/24 Figure Skating Secretary!
I'm a former USFSA Figure Skater and a former Committee Member of the Scott Hamilton Figure Skating Academy Junior Board in Nashville, USA.
I've got lots of experience both on the ice and off, with plenty organizational and sports coaching expertise.
Looking forward to the 23/24 season!

Hi, I’m Ingrid Chan, a current first year International Social and Political Studies student :)
I am running for the figure secretary position because I would love to contribute to the Ice Club – as a beginner figure skater, the current leadership team and experienced skaters have done a lot to make me feel welcome, either by arranging coaching, giving skating tips, and just sharing their experiences on the ice.
I am a friendly, responsible, and adaptable person. Having been involved in the EISPS and ESG journals, and managed large-scale events previously in high school, I have excellent communication and organisation skills, meaning that I am well-equipped in managing the logistics of arranging figure skating classes, getting payments on time, answering inquiries, and generally making members’ experiences enjoyable and helping them be a part of the UCL skating community.
A few suggestions I have in mind for next year: doing a survey to see interest in different levels, taking “attendance” each lesson (also a great way to get to know people), collecting funds within three weeks of classes starting, and more skating socials/lunches/picnics, as well as socials that "invite" the general public (e.g. watch ppl skate and do mini performances) for promotion. I will be available constantly to answer any questions about the ice club and just beginner figure skater tips in general.
Vote for me to become one of your figure secretaries and you’ll have an blast out on the ice ;)

I have loved every minute of being involved in Frostbite Ice Club, and frequently mark Wednesday afternoons as the highlight of my calendar as it means an opportunity to skate and see everyone in the club! Having skated since I was 7yrs old, figure skating has always played an important role in my life, both as a means of sport and having fun with friends. Joining the club this year, and the varsity ice show, has given me the opportunity to meet great, like-minded people, learn new skills and allows me to continue engaging in an activity that means so much to me.
Therefore, I would like to put myself forward for figure skating secretary; I am an experienced ice skater, so I already understand aspects of the role relating to organising skating related events eg. planning lessons, communicating between society members and rink staff etc. I also have new ideas to bring to the committee, such as organising more ice skating social events, on and off ice, to enable the different levels of figure skaters to get to know each other better to unite the whole club, eg. introducing figure skaters to ice hockey players as this is something which I feel would benefit the society. Lastly, as skating is a longstanding passion of mine, I guarantee that I would invest my time in committing to the position and dedicating my commitment to being involved and active within the society.
