Hockey Club (Women's): 4XI Captain

Hey, I’m Dani! Joining the hockey 4s team this year has shaped my university experience. Although I am a second-year student this was my first year playing hockey. For the longest time sport has been a main focus in my life. After taking an extended break from cycling due to an injury. Learning a new sport in such an inclusive and encouraging environment has been the best thing for me. I’ve enjoyed all aspects of being a member of UCLWHC, the training, the games and especially the socials. I am an approachable, friendly, sociable player. 

Even though I may not have any experience in hockey I have a sporting background which has often required me to take a leadership role. I have been a road captain/leader many times in cycling. This has given me the skills needed to organise and motivate the team. I’m a naturally hardworking, organised and dedicated person which I believe are all skills necessary to be a good captain. As captain, I would ensure that everyone feels welcome and encouraged. Being a member of the 4s team is all about having fun and trying new things with this in mind I will encourage players to attend training, play the matches and of course participate in the socials.
