Emily L Haydock

I would be honoured to be considered for the role of ‘2nd team captain’. Nothing would bring me more pleasure or joy. In all honesty, joining the hockey club has been one of the best decisions that I've made at university thus far, I have only constantly bragged to my whole family and home friends how great it is (making them jealous in the process).

I want to help make the future, next year freshers feel just how I did… involved, included and with a feeling of strong friendship between their teammates. I feel like I would flourish under this new role and have shown my dedication and enthusiasm to the team and club by showing up to the training, matches and socials. I am sociable, committed, supportive, creative and have the ability to chin, whilst not my pint, but a tin of cold Heinz spaghetti. ALL key attributes that I plan to bring to the role of captain. I shall make sure to brainstorm possible drills that can be used alongside the coach’s in each training session. Ones I think may be effective in aiding us, as a team, in improving each week. Using my communication skills to help keep the team, hockey club or coach informed with new ideas, plans, socials and fixtures. I also will strive, not only, to help inspire the new freshers with the weekly themes, a nice way to keep my own creative juices flowing but continue to be as loud as physically possible with support on and off the pitch (even if the opposition advises me to take a Strepsil).
