I would love to be your president next year!
I've been part of the club for 4 years now and cannot imagine my university life without it. It has been vital in shaping many of my experiences during my time at UCL and I would love to help do the same in the new year with old and new members alike.
I've been mixed team captain and 3s captain, so I know how the committee functions, how to get involved and ensure that everyone in the club can have their voices and opinions heard. It also means that I know the level of commitment and organisation this role takes - which I've shown through my long stints on the Picadilly line.
Captaining the 3s this year has been a pleasure and it's been a privilege to see our freshers go from strength to strength, both on and off the pitch. Next year, I want to make it a priority to ensure that all 3 teams have exposure to any and all opportunities that hockey presents - whether that be playing or training at a higher standard, trying goal keeping, start umpiring, or help in welfare, education and women in sports endeavours. I want to focus on strengthening the sense of community within the club, integrating all teams. One way is through more 'chill' socials, but also through some more mixed training and study sessions outside of hockey. Hockey and Southgate are on par, actually higher ranked, than Cruci to me - and as some of you know, Cruci has a special hold on me.
RUMSWHC has given me so much and I would love to give back as president!
