Harvey Wen

Hey, everyone!

Since the start of this academic year, I have served as the executive for the Events and Outreach team at UCL’s largest careers hub - a very rewarding experience that I am determined to continue! I have been given the responsibility to inspire students from all backgrounds and guide them towards achieving their career aspirations. As someone who has worked tirelessly through dozens of applications and sought to perfect the cover letter for each company, I understand the struggles and the excessive time that can be spent alongside high university workload. This year, my interpersonal skills and ability to maintain healthy relationships have played a key role when planning and organising various events for our 5,000 registered members across our network. These events have given the opportunity for students to network with working professionals and receive tailored advice, giving all students a genuine positive effect on their application.

My passion for networking and connecting people within UCL grants me the confidence that I can continue to bring creative ideas and fresh perspectives to the team and work effectively with others to ensure the success of events and outreach activities. I will continue to dedicate the time it takes to contribute to Guild and support all students in achieving their professional goals as the Head of Events and Outreach!

Marina Anikieva

I am a second year Management Science student and as a proud member of Guild, I am very excited about an opportunity to contribute to the society and improve the extracurricular opportunities for UCL students.

This year, I obtained an Investment Banking internship offer from MUFG. Hence, having gone through the application process I am keen to provide the most valuable career opportunities to the society members. I plan to apply the time management and hardworking skills that I acquired in the process to ensure the highest quality and practicality of the organised events. Throughout my degree and during society competitions, I worked in groups and developed exceptional listening abilities. I plan to bring these skills to Guild by closely engaging with society members to ensure prompt responses to their needs and concerns.

If elected, my primary goal would be to enhance the society's event offerings. This includes organising more social events and collaborating with other societies under the Guild umbrella to ensure greater consistency. I'm committed to maintaining safety as the top priority, especially at social events, to ensure our members feel secure when attending. Additionally, I'll focus on negotiating a wider range of opportunities for Guild Society members from various sources, including sponsors and external networks.

I can assure you that if elected, I would dedicate all my effort and commitment to fulfilling and exceeding the requirements of this position.

Ahaan Bhandari

Hey, I’m Ahaan, the current First Year Executive at Guild and I’m running for the position of Head of Events & Outreach.

My objective is straightforward – Making Guild Bigger and Better.

My relevant experiences include:

  • Heading a United Nations Hub, organising and planning 20+ events across 5 cities and 500+ participants
  • Conducting research under a renowned economist on Global Climate Supply Chains
  • Interning at a local financial brokerage firm, facilitating deals ranging up to £25,000
  • Consulting clients on their strategic growth at London Strategic Consulting

As a theatre kid, I’m highly social and value networking and maintaining relationships. As your next Head, I’ll organise events that the members want and collaborate with different societies.

My plans as the Head -

  • Stock Trading Crisis Simulation Competition for high school students to enhance their knowledge in the field of finance
  • Sustainable Economics Case Study competition in partnership with other societies and organisations
  • Annual Guild Ball with renowned speakers and panelists across different divisions from Finance to Entrepreneurship

As the largest society at UCL, I firmly believe there’s still immense scope for growth and I am thrilled to be a part of it!
