I think making music is fantastic, and that anybody remotely interested should give it a good shot. Learning to produce can be very intimidating, but things like production workshops make this easier to get into. As head of production, I would be interestred to introduce something like a live workshop for those who have original songs, or for people who just want to jam. The incorporation of live instruments to some of these would be a fun and interesting option as well, if members were to be interested in that. Events where music exclusively created by EMS members is played (whether that be live or on decks) could also be a fun idea that I would be eager to explore. I have been a hobbyist producer for about 3 years, and it is something I am passionate about. I think having a production branch within EMS is very important and can provide excellent opportunities to people, and I would like to try to use and share my experience and interest in production for the benefit EMS members.

Being this year's Head of Production has been a fantastic experience. It's been amazing to help total beginners in getting to grips with making their own tracks, as well as meet and discuss music production with those more experienced. Reflecting on the past few months, I feel I have built a nicely fleshed-out production wing to EMS that was previously lacking, but I also feel I can do so much more if elected for a second year.

If elected, I first plan to continue the weekly 3-hour workshop. However, in response to numerous people wishing to learn in DAWs other than my preferred FL Studio, I plan to make them more accessible. I aim to do this by opening the sessions up to more collaboration from the society at-large, with experienced producers in other DAWs helping out when they want.

In addition to this, I will also greatly improve the organisation and activity of our Discord. I will post helpsheets, sample packs and other useful content applicable to all DAWs in order to make learning easier.

Lastly, I will continue to develop plans for an EMS record label/outlet, an idea currently still in its formative stages that I would like to bring to full fruition next year with biweekly single and EP releases from society producers of all musical backgrounds and skill-levels. These will be released on Soundcloud and Bandcamp, and perhaps even streaming services.

Overall, electing me Head of Production will get you everything you got this year, plus extra!
