Having been a part of the debating community for two years, I have been a part of such an incredibly welcoming family that has only continued to grow. As welfare officer, I want to help protect this community and ensure we maintain a safe, inviting environment for both new and continuing members. I know how scary the prospect of debate can be for beginners, even as a relative oldie in the society I still know those pre-speech butterflies all too well, and I know that my experience and desire to introduce people to the incredible world of debate will ensure our society keeps growing.
