Hello everyone! I was the Welfare Officer for DataViz society for 2022-23. In the past year, I helped to run our workshops (Flourish, etc.) and speaker events. I've also helped to launch our Data Journalism unit to give our members an opportunity to practise their data visualisation skills.

DataViz is quite a new society and it's been an exciting year building it from the ground up. I delivered our Christmas Mapping workshop last year and in the coming year I want to focus on delivering accessible visualisation workshops for our members. These will be my 3 priorities as a Data Lead:

  1. Deliver accessible visualisation workshops for interesting types of visualisations
  2. Start a visualisation hack-a-thon for anyone interested!
  3. Create a DataViz Society website to post workshop materials, hackathon products, and any other exciting visualisations from our members

I want to create an environment where everyone in the society feels comfortable to contribute and collaborate! I hope to get our members more involved in our workshops and share cool visualisations we've come across so that we can attempt to recreate them.
