I've loved my time as women's officer for UCL CC, working to make the club a welcoming place for all cyclists regardless of their gender identity and I hope to continue this in the 2023/24 academic year.

We've had a lot of success in boosting women's participation over the last year, I'd love to expand this to people new to cycling whilst also supporting the continued development of our intermediate and advanced riders is also really important so I plan to host a range of events including:

  • Beginner friendly rides: to support those who are getting into cycling and still improving their fitness.
  • Long rides: just for the girls and the NBs, to get out and explore the roads outside of London - of course always making sure to have a great café stop.
  • Skills sessions about UK road rules and mechanical skills: Being comfortable on the bike also goes beyond riding the bike so along with the Welfare Officer I will plan skills sessions to make all riders capable of riding independently.
  • Strength and conditioning classes for cyclists: Making the group stronger so that we're less prone to injury and can up the power!
  • Women and NB Socials: Working with our social secretary to plan socials like coffee chats, pub nights and race screenings.

I will continue to be a friendly face to our cyclists, always happy to lend an ear and take on ideas about how the club can improve, and advocating for women and non-binary cyclists in all club activities, making sure our voices are heard.
