I am standing for this position as I am probably the most passionate person when it comes to cricket (regardless of my ability lol). I was the 1st team captain at my undergrad uni for 3 years, we had never even reached any position on the BUCS leaderboard, but after my captaincy, we came second though all the UK BUCS unis ;).

I believe that everyone has potential, regardless of age or how long you’ve been playing for, and I want to encourage new players to have the confidence to join the hardball sessions and play in games! I am a confident, enthusiastic and inclusive person, I would love to be captain as I will share my excitement for cricket amongst the team and build an atmosphere where everyone feels included and enjoys the sessions.

I am also qualified to coach cricket, and being captain requires some skill and knowledge of the sport, which I acquire and can pass amongst my peers.

Alex J Brookes

Hi everyone! I’m Alex and I’m in my 2ndyear. I am currently the 1stXI captain and am rerunning for the position again next year.

I have loved every second of my role this year, all of you make this club incredible and there is more I want to do to help the club continue to develop next year.

My aims for next year are:

  • Continue to recruit new experienced players into the club
  • Help and encourage beginners move to play hardball
  • Aim to create a positive atmosphere where people feel confident and supported
  • Continue running the strength and conditioning sessions
  • Organise more indoor matches to keep on top of match habits through the long winter season

Look forward to seeing lots of you at the AGM where I will expand on the points mentioned above and answer any questions :))
