Jacklyn Yi (仪姝月)

Hello everyone! I'm Jacklyn, I am nominating myself for the position of president.

Here are some changes I would like to make:

  1. Increasing individual engagement. Instead of committee members doing all the work, it would be better to offer everyone an opportunity to engage through presenting works, discussion, etc.
  2. Increasing interaction and social opportunity. Besides all the events we currently hold in school, outdoor sketching and dinner gathering would be taken into consideration.
  3. Enhancing variety and inclusiveness by broadening the teaching beyond the style of "kai" and by collaborating with other societies. For instance, over the past few years, meditation has offered me great calm and serenity, so collaboration with mindful society or any other society could be held.

I didn't start my calligraphy practice since childhood, intense practicing for me began after high school. My progress went through the style of  "kai" "li" "xing".

Two years of self-practicing was hard sometimes, like tossing rocks into an endless well without echoing back. In fact, most of our life requires working in solitary, just like calligraphy, roads can lead us far when step by step is rooted in solidity.

Calligraphy practice in college days might be a trivial part of your life, perhaps you may one day forget what you have learned, perhaps I never got a chance to work for the committee, but what gathers us is already the best of everything.

有缘遇见,已经十分有幸!
