Chinese Society: Events and Logistics Officer

I am currently a freshman and a member of the society. I am standing because I would like the opportunity to be more involved with the society next year, and to further my understanding of the culture and trends of the current Hong Kong. Although I was born in and grew up in Hong Kong, coming from an international school has certainly created gaps between myself and those from local schools. I would like to take the opportunity the events and logistics officer role provides to be able to bridge some of those gaps, mainly through the form of the events. There have not been too many events this year, and the bulk of these events came at the very beginning of the year, so it has been a while. Through an increased volume and a new variety of events, I hope to be able to make the Chinese society a closer community than it already is. I am prepared to devote as much time as need be to make this society even greater next year. As I participated in many of the events that did take place this year, including the most recent karting event which I enjoyed very much, I have a better understanding of what people enjoy, which events already exist, and so this gives me the advantage in event planning. I simply want to get more involved in the society that feels closest to me at UCL, and I am open to other roles as well on the committee of the Chinese society. Thanks for your consideration.
