Cheese Grater has many branches that make up the magazine that are all unique and attract different people for different reasons. I will look out for all the different branches and members to ensure everyone feels welcome within the society. I will listen to and take criticisms of how things are run to the committee, insisting they are heard and addressed throughout the magazine. I will make sure that the freshers that come in October feel comfortable and quickly find their place within the society. Also, I will help plan welfare events to help members de-stress and have fun. xoxo

Vicky Haefliger Bueno

Hey everyone!! My name is Vicky, I am a second year Neuroscience student, and joined the Cheese Grater last September. I remember going to my first Cheese Grater social, which was a pub quiz, and remember feeling so nervous and excited to join this society. Here I am now, many months later, writing my application for Welfare Officer. Time flies!!! I am so grateful to have been recently appointed Welfare Officer for the remainder of the academic year, and as I haven’t had much time in this position, I would love to continue being Welfare Officer next year.

As Welfare Officer, I will ensure that this society continues to be an environment where everyone feels comfortable, included, and eager to share their talent and creativity. If there ever were to be an issue, I will make sure it is addressed and solved quickly, and is treated as a main priority. If you ever would like to speak privately about a personal concern, or one regarding the Cheese Grater, I would be more than happy to organise a meeting, whether online or in person  (whatever works best for you), to discuss the issue, and see how I can help. Even if you just want to go get a coffee and catch up or take your mind off of things, send me a text!! Not to sound cheesy, but I really have grown to love the Cheese Grater, and I want to ensure everyone has an amazing experience in this wonderful society. Thank you!! :)
