Boat Club: Novice Women's Captain

Having started rowing this year as a novice and absolutely loving every second, wet socks, water filled wellies and all…, I would love to be NW captain next year and share in the excitement of discovering a new sport with all the novices!

I would love to continue the sense of community and inclusion that I experienced this year.   I want to work with everyone in the club to promote it further, building an even stronger relationship across both the novice squads and throughout the club as a whole.

As well as the wider club, supporting the development of relationships within the NW squad is also super important.  I would create more opportunities for the NW to get to know each other better within the first few weeks. 

I hope to:

• build an enthusiastic environment within the new NW squad
• provide an introduction to the basics of rowing, terminology and familiarity with the tideway to make it a little less daunting!
• support each of the novices to push for their best in every session
• lead a squad that gives all they’ve got

I believe I can provide all round support, strong leadership, lots of enthusiasm and a really enjoyable and successful first year of rowing!
