Boat Club: Kit Officer

Rowing and kit goes hand in hand. The statement “there is no bad weather, only bad clothes” definitely holds true for the sport. The kit also represents the club. It needs to be something the members can be proud of both on and of the water. As of right now UCLBCs kit can improve on practicality, deliverment time and design.

In order to improve practicality of the kit more products could be added. This could be products like airhead visors, light puffer jackets, half-zip sweatshirts and rowing socks. Some of these things could be implemented through rival kit while others can be added by using new suppliers like VX3 and CrewRoom. With our current supplier time of delivery is a big issue. An example here is the splash jackets I know some of you are still waiting for. A solution to this problem could be to expand range of suppliers and do more bulk orders.

Lastly the current kit cant be improved design wise. An upgraded design of the hoodie and splash jacket, a crewneck, a polo shirt and tie are just a few things that can be added for you to wear. I also believe more special kit could be cool. This could be kit for races with a design in regards to a specific crew and of course a rocking committee sweater. My idea here would be to re-vision the 2021-2022 half zip.

On a different note the second hand market place for the club could be improved. Currently Facebook is the main place to trade kit, this could perhaps be improved by creating a WhatsApp group specific for this.
