My Name is Kriti, and I have been part of the UCLWB this year. I have had nothing but positive experiences, and want to add my own contribution and value to the society.
This opportunity gives me an exciting way to integrate two of my interests; basketball and finance. As an economics students and a basketball player being the treasurer will be a rewarding, varied and exciting position to help shape the clubs future financial strategy.
I would be involved in every part of the club, not only thinking about the present but the future and will also be a great way to improve planning and financial management of the club with an extremely supportive environment. I will ensure funds are optimally utilised with reasonable spending and great return in terms of quality, satisfaction and planning. I want to ensure the club, its members, players and committee are at ease by ensuring there is good logistic planning and co'ordination.
Overall this will help me get closer to all of you :)))
GO UCLWB!
Hi there! I’m Tiffany, an Arts and Sciences (BASc) student on my year abroad. Being in Japan this year has made me realised how much I miss being a part of UCLWB. It’s not just the training sessions I had with the 2s, but also the Saturday market adventures and the people I’ve met in the club. Therefore, I am hoping to contribute back to the club when I return for my final year.
I’ve had a variety of leadership experiences in the past (e.g., head of boarding house at my secondary school) and have had experience managing accounts and financial budgets during my internship experiences. If elected for the treasurer of UCLWB, I will:
- Manage the funding and accounts in an efficient and sensible way
- Keep a neat and tidy record of all the club’s income and expenses
- Collaborate and work alongside other committee members
I feel equipped to take on the role of treasurer and am eager to see the club thrive!
Past experience is an important aspect to how well one can take on a job, because of all the skillset gained and mistakes that can be learnt from. I have had various experiences with budgeting because I've ran my own charity project where I managed all the fundings, cost and how to breakeven. In addition to this, I was in charge of booking basketball courts for the UCL Thai society which means I have had quite a lot of experience with how the system works to block book courts in London. Of course as a treasurer it is not something that can be done alone, so teamwork and communication is also important, and this can be evident through my role as a House captain, senior prefect and Head of Sixth form committee in high school.
