Election post
Hi! This year, I’ve had an amazing experience being a member of such a diverse club, and I hope to drive Asiatic Affairs to new heights as your President. I’m committed to fostering a tight-knit and cohesive club community, all while generating novel opportunities to target a wide range of individual passions. I’m hoping to:
- Expand student voices, celebrating the Asian diaspora. UCL is home to a collection of eclectic student minds, and I aim to empower more opportunities to showcase Asian affairs from unique perspectives via articles and discussions.
- Create informal, more creative outlets. I’d like to focus on catering to cultural events and encouraging members to speak on non-political topics to create a well-balanced community.
- Equalize our budget. I’m committed to allocating our budget to encompass more social events on top of speaker series and workshops.
- Revitalizing past passion projects. By revamping the foundational events of the Asiatic Affairs podcast, journal, and website, I hope to restore engaging and consistent club content.
A bit about me: I’m a well-organised, empathetic and ambitious leader deeply passionate about Asiatic Affairs. I’ve had the opportunity to intern for an NGO aiming to alleviate malnutrition in North Korea and Chair my high school's first Asian-Canadian Students Association. With these experiences, I'm eager to uplift voices curious about Asian affairs and reciprocate my gratitude to this cherished community. Thank you! :)
