Edoardo Lorenzetti

I’m Edoardo and I’m currently in my third year of Management Science, where I’ve had the opportunity to learn a wide-ranging set of management skills and study a minor in Artificial Intelligence.

I’ve been in the society for two years now, first as a member, captured by a wonderful international community of AI fans, and later as a welfare officer, making sure that everyone felt welcome here at AI Society. Throughout this time, I’ve experienced what it feels like to be an active part of such a major and dynamic society, where other than being welfare officer, I helped to organise and run socials as well as some big events, like Doxathon, and I helped to record and launch our society’s podcast, Reinforcement Talking.

It’s been a challenging year for the Artificial Intelligence society, as we have seen lower participation levels in our events, and we had to delay our much-anticipated Climate Hack. For next year, I’m eager to bring back a stronger sense of community, supported by multiple types of engaging events, as well as a clearer and more transparent interaction with our members.

As the Head of Operations, I would supervise all the different teams in our large committee to ensure that they communicate and cooperate with each other, as in order to sustain a successful society, it’s fundamental that we work together as one single entity. I would also ensure that deadlines and event/project timelines are set responsibly, helping everyone on board to guarantee they are met.
