Michelle Sayed

(Dw I'll keep this short )

My name's Michelle and like many of you, I have absolutely loved being a part of the activities art soc has had to offer and meeting the amazing people there. I'm standing for treasurer because I want to be more involved within the society and a part of future projects.

I am very good at budgeting and keeping track of finances which will help to continue to provide all the amazing workshops and any new projects as treasurer. (vote for me :)

Anais Virreira Guzman

As an active member of the art society for two years now, I feel a responsibility to uphold the society and contribute to its running so that we can continue to make art as accessible as possible here at UCL.

This past term I have been helping with the set up of oil painting sessions, as well as with the most recent sculpture tutorial. During this time I became aware of budget issues and other administrative responsibilities that are integral to the society's success and feel ready to take on this responsibility.

Ultimately art is a costly interest and as someone with a good understanding of costs of materials (due to my own interest in fine art and intern position at the iom), I hope that I can secure funding for the many ambitious projects that our members may want to pursue.

All in all, I have witnessed existing administrative issues in the society and feel regretful about how this has limited members' possibilities to explore their creativity. I am confident in my ability to budget and handle simple administration, but most of all I can promise my full commitment and accountability towards the role.

Grace Yang

Hi, I'm Grace :) As a member of the Art Society for 3 years, I really love the club and would love to be involved in organising and improving events for everyone to enjoy. I've really appreciated how through Art Society I get to explore new media, express my creativity and meet new people with a similar passion for art!

I have worked an administrative job at the hospital for the past 3 years, so I am very experienced in managing orders and stock, keeping track of finances, and navigating complex administrative systems. I'm very patient, efficient and proactive, so I hope to use these skills to help bring about positive changes to the club!

I have a few ideas for the club and am very open to all suggestions:

 - A weekly updates email to all members notifying all of the upcoming week's activities, including the links and explanations for the events.

 - A more active social media account with signposting for point of contact and regular notification on events.

 - If there is a demand, a regular open studio where people can come use supplies and have artistic freedom.

 - Keep up the amazing workshops the society offers and potentially offer new exciting classes.

I hope I can give back to this amazing society as your treasurer!

Lilly A Luu

Hi everyone! I'm Lilly and I am excited to share my vision for the position of Treasurer.

As Treasurer, I would like to empower the Society's interdisciplinary nature, engaging students of all disciplines to wind down, immerse themselves into Art.

This can be achieved by my ideas to drive financial responsibility. Leading society financial affairs with transparency, I would like to introduce a monthly financial report which will succinctly communicate the up-to-date accounting records, timely payment of invoices and outcome of bids for additional funding. This will include an extensive examination of forecasting future monthly expenditures as part of the overall annual budget, providing clarity for other divisions and the President.

I seek to voice and amplify members' suggestions on what events they'd like to have more of and maximise the budget that benefits them. Working in tangent with the Events and External Relations team to develop further income from events and sponsorships to elevate the Society's potential using data.

Previously, as the Head of Charity Ball Committee, I developed financial acumen by producing a project proposal and negotiating a discount on these items in order to maximise charity donations. I also managed the payment of invoices and sought reimbursement from the school’s administration team. As a UCL M&A analyst, I developed quantitative skills to inform my thoughts on transactions by being confident in understanding accounting and valuation techniques.
