Laxmi Gurung

In short, I simply love painting. For me, painting, oil and water in particular, has acted as an escape medium from the turbulence of everyday life, entering into a different world with every brush stroke. By being the head of painting, aspire to share my interest and therapeutic qualities of painting to others by organising much more painting activities and lessons: painting in different locations and life painting events. Thank you :)

Zoe Wang

Experience:

In my 10 years of making art, I have undergone four years of rigorous watercolour and acrylic training in the Claude Watson Visual Arts programme. This involves multiple studio sessions per day and working with guest artists during class hours. In addition, I have also taught painting at my previous school's peer tutoring system. With these two experiences, I can organize painting sessions, invite professional painters for workshops, and help out with technical difficulties if needed.

My goals are to:

-create a friendly, approachable, and engaging painting environment.

-open up different types of painting mediums for creative exploration.

-help foster self-confidence in painting.

Yue Pan

As a third-year Civil Engineering student, I have developed a keen interest in, and highly valued competence in, sketching and creativity. I've been an active member of the art society for the past two years, attending many of the painting sessions and activities. Through these encounters, I've developed a great appreciation for art's ability to inspire, connect, and transform.

With my passion for art and my experience as a student leader, I believe I am well-suited to take on the post of Head of Painting in the Art Society. As an engineering student, I have always been one of the best students in my class, demonstrating my ability to juggle academics and extracurricular activities. Through numerous roles in student groups and organisations, I have also obtained substantial expertise in leadership and organisation.

As Head of Painting, my goal would be to encourage and empower members of the art society to explore their creativity and improve their painting skills. I would plan and organise painting workshops, exhibitions, and other activities in collaboration with other members of the society. With my background in leadership and organisational skills, I am convinced that I can help the art society thrive and provide a supportive and stimulating environment for all of its members.

Overall, I am delighted about the opportunity to contribute to the art society as Head of Painting, and I believe that my love of art, drawing talents, and leadership experience qualify me for this position.
