Tango has been in my life for over 2 years. I am still passionate about learning about tango culture and be a part of its community.

For our tango club, I would like us to have frequent social events and learn more about the tango culture. I am planning to create a tango playlist together for classes. Each of you can choose 3-4 songs (called tanda) for everyone to dance to! I also want to have playlists for special tango musicians to get to know their music and practice incorporating our tango moves to their music. Meanwhile, I would like to keep the collaborations between Imperial Tango club and UCL salsa club and introduce new events for members!

I believe, with other Tango club officers, we can bring fun changes, interesting events, and a welcoming environment to the Argentinian Tango Club.

Emrullah Yigit

Tango, or more generally dancing is not a habit or a hobby to me. It is an ambition, it is an enthusiasm, it is how I show my love and passion for something that has been and will be the most prominent component of my life. I do not only think of dancing or in my terms "tango-ing" while moving in couples around other couples but a way that I reflect my character and my long-lasting enjoyment of life. I started tango in the high-school and I converted my tango club into a society full of passionate and delightful people whose only will was to enjoy the moment. As they say "CARPE DIEM!!" And I did this in less than four years.

I am aware that in university I only have three years, however right now I am more sophisticated and experienced in "tango-ing" compared to any other time in my life. Hopefully, if I am lucky enough I would be able to spread this enjoyment and love throughout our great university and extraordinary society in whole. There is an expression "When the rhythm of the music changes, the dance steps must change also." I am accustomed to changes and I assure you I am very swift and smooth in my steps. I will put all my effort to share this love and enthusiasm with my peers this year as the Freshers' Rep if I am elected. LET'S DANCE TOGETHER this year!
