I am Sara Guttmann, a biology student interested in working in the field of Animal welfare or the industry of alternative proteins. My year with ARS has been very fulfilling, the debates have taught me a lot, and meeting people with similar values truly has improved my university experience. For my last year at UCL, I want to be part of the committee and help run this wonderful society, to continue creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone interested in animal rights and welfare! I believe I would be a great president as I have been president of the Amnesty International society of my high school, and have been social secretary of UCL swimming society in the past. For next year, I would love to continue running the current events: socials, debates, talks, volunteering, and career opportunities. I would also love to input some new ideas into our program. A collaboration with UCL Volunteering, to get our volunteering opportunities as part of the official UCL programs, as well as an intra-city program with an Animal welfare NGO in another country! Lastly, I would love to lead the society with a vegan approach and collaborate with some UCL and other University societies. Nature and Conservation society for wild animal welfare bird walks. Alternative Proteins Society for career opportunities and technology-based talks. Effective Altruism, Philosophy, and Bioethics societies for more debates.

I would love to help reach the full potential of this society!
