Elio Kreka

Hey there! As a new member of the Boxing Society at UCL, I have been absolutely loving the sport and the community that comes with it. From the moment I stepped into the gym, I knew that I had found a place where I could both challenge myself physically and connect with other passionate boxers.

Now, as someone who is deeply committed to helping others, I am excited about the opportunity to serve as the Welfare Officer for our society. I believe that mental health and wellbeing are critical components of any successful athletic or academic endeavor. Whether you're a seasoned boxer or a newcomer like me, I am committed to making sure that everyone feels valued, respected, and supported.

But being a Welfare Officer is also about pushing ourselves to be better. That's why I am passionate about helping others develop their skills and reach their full potential in the sport of boxing. Whether it's offering tips and advice during training sessions, or working to promote a culture of growth and improvement within our society, I believe that we can all benefit from pushing ourselves to be the best that we can be.

So if you're looking for a Welfare Officer who is deeply committed to creating a supportive and inclusive community, who is passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing, and who is dedicated to helping others develop their skills and reach their full potential in the sport of boxing, then I am your person!

Sreejana Basu

As a junior black belt in taekwondo and a self-taught boxer, I have always been very fond of martial arts. It's something so calming about the synchronicity of boxing that connects my body and brain. The adrenaline, sense of teamwork, and learnings boxing have taught me, have pushed me to care for others in the same way. In my role as a welfare officer, I bring the skills of effective communication, empathy, and problem-solving. I understand the physical and emotional demands of sports and can provide support to members of the amateur boxing society, ensuring their well-being and safety.

If elected, I hope to create a safe and inclusive environment for all members of society and break the stereotype that surrounds boxing. Through workshops and events, I will spread awareness about mental health as a boxer and support individuals who may be struggling with anxiety or stress. Furthermore, I strive to operate closely with the coaching staff at ABC to ensure that members receive adequate training and support for their physical fitness goals. My goal is to earn your vote, help make a difference, and make lifelong friendships in the process! Vote for me :)

Raj Ratnesan

Hi, I'm Raj, and I'd like to be welfare officer of the Boxing Society next year.

Having started boxing this year, and thus being relatively new, I am deeply committed to getting more involved within the society. The position of welfare officer interests me as I'd like to use it to promote safety, inclusivity, and well-being within the sport. As a beginner this year, I believe that my experiences as a novice are valuable for ensuring different perspectives in the committee.

I would work closely with coaches and other members to ensure that training sessions and events are conducted in a way that minimizes the risk of injury and promotes good health. Furthermore, I'd love to strenghten the current environment, where all members feel supported and encouraged. With a strong track record of advocating for the welfare of others, I am confident that I would make a meaningful contribution to the society and help ensure that all members are able to participate safely and responsibly, with the ability to grow both mental and physical strength through this sport.
