Niharika Lal

Hi everyone, I’m Niharika Lal, a first-year Economics student running for the post of Head of Sponsorship this year.

I want to do something productive and worth remembering for the society. Since I’m a person with strong communication and interpersonal skills, I believe I am a potential candidate for this prestigious post.

If I’m elected as your next Head of Sponsorship, I would aim to achieve 3 main goals:

  • Organise joint social events with other prominent finance-related societies at UCL.
  • Provide monthly sponsorship updates detailing how we are making use of the funds provided by our sponsors.
  • Develop a range of resources and events through networking with societies across the region as well as sponsors to organise multiple events so that members can benefit from a variety of opportunities.

Why me?

  • As the founder of an E-commerce start-up, I have liaised with clients and interacted with different levels of management, which has improved my negotiation skills.
  • Committed: I was the only first-year student who got selected as a consultant at Curaty and played a crucial role in building their LinkedIn strategy.

Most importantly, your feedback is much appreciated. Feel free to drop an email at [email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you!

Patricia Shevel-Bleikss

It is only through organizations such as ‘Women in Finance’ that change in gender equality within banking is happening. As First Year Representative within the Sponsorship division the inspiration I felt organising and attending ‘Women in Finance’ events made me realise how I wanted to help this society grow further. Therefore I am applying for Head of Sponsorship.

Since starting secondary school, I have always had an active role in many societies – from debating club to student council, where I have enhanced teamwork, organization skills and dedication. As President of my school’s Environmental Committee, I learnt what it means to lead a team as well as how to budget and finance events while communicating with teachers and local sponsors.

If selected as Head of Sponsorship I would grow my initiatives such as gaining more sponsors through collaboration with partnering societies in the GUILD. More specifically, I would build a connection with all sponsors to create more flagship events and information seminars from analysts within our partnering companies, to equip women for all the skills needed in the finance industry. I would ensure efficient communication, with event updates, to manage relationships with sponsors, ensuring all needs are met.

I believe my past society experiences, excellent work ethic and enthusiastic personality make me a strong candidate for this position.

Sriya Chinta

My name is Sriya and I am running for Head of Sponsorship.

My objectives:

  • Maintain relations with existing sponsors and secure new sponsors for the society, creating long-lasting networks with various firms.
  • Organise workshops to make students aware of different divisions and opportunities available within finance
  • Organise coding and Excel workshops; these are valuable skills in a world that is becoming increasingly digitised
  • Organise the annual ‘Share the Vision’ conference, helping secure valuable speakers
  • Organise more social events in collaboration with other Guild societies to create a supportive network

Why me?:

Being a FYR for the society, I understand and can carry forward Women in Finance Society's vision for the following year. Being passionate about finance, having secured 3 spring insight weeks and having attended many of the society’s events, I would be fully committed to my role and would love to organise a variety of events for other women sharing the same passion as myself. Having helped organised and done marketing for the ‘Share The Vision’ conference this year, I believe my experience would be invaluable in planning the next one. As a student with a part-time tutoring job, I have impeccable organisational skills and can prioritise, ensuring all my duties as Head of Sponsorship would be fulfilled to a high standard.

Given the opportunity, I would love to carry forward the society’s vision and build upon its success!

Rhea Shah

Hi, I’m Rhea and I’m running for Head of Sponsorship.

As a member of Women in Finance society, I believe sponsorship is a fundamental part of running successful large-scale events. Without funding, events would not be possible, and I want to be a part of creating an outstanding and unforgettable experience for the events in the coming year. I believe that my strengths of organisation, communication, and teamwork align well with the qualities for this role.

Having represented my school as a dance leader and finance director for my young enterprise team, worked as a student intern at Lloyds Bank, and attended several networking events, I have been involved in communicating and building relationships with others, which is key for securing sponsors and deals with several businesses. Undertaking these responsibilities has invaluably enhanced my interpersonal skills whilst giving me an appreciation of time management.

Having received sponsorships and brand deals on social media, I do have the experience of liaising with companies and negotiating appropriate contractual agreements, which have been successful. Fundraising events are a great way to encourage many to participate in our events and raise money for charity. If given this opportunity as Head of Sponsorship, I hope to bring in more sponsors, which will allow us to host memorable events for you all.

Priana B Natavarlal

Hey guys, I’m Priana! My favourite word beginning with “E” is Ethan Cutkosky, but it’s closely followed by equip, empower and educate. These three words mirror my values and that, in conjunction with my unique experiences in communications is why I think I should be your head of sponsorship. My main goal is to increase graduate opportunities for us and I strive to do this by making us stand out to amazing companies. Do I think we can achieve that? Yes! At UCL, we are talented women and I will make sure everyone in the finance sector knows that.
