As a First Year Representative for WinF, I have gathered experience working in the R&O division along with other representatives and the senior committee team. I aim to incorporate my experience in facilitating the following programs as the Head of R&O.

I wish to work closely with CTRL Your Tomorrow team and communicate with a wider range of schools. Within this volunteering program, I will enable more underprivileged students to gain access to the FinTech industry by collaborating with the society and deliver coding and case study workshops on a weekly/biweekly basis.

On&Up volunteering program over the past years has gained attention and influence among students. In regard to the unexpected workshop rearrangements posed by schools, I hope to reduce the instability by assigning volunteers into separate time slots so that we can cope with sudden changes. On the other hand, I will promote this educational opportunity to more students with the WinF marketing team and expand our impact.

Preparing for Share The Vision 2022 along with the committee and participating in events such as Harvard Business School MBA information session, I recognize the importance of the events we are hosting and will devote my event planning skills to help the team in the following year.

Melodie Li

Hi girls :)

I’m Melodie, BSc Economics and Statistics student hoping to be your Head of Outreach and Relations. As a mentee of WinF Mentorship Program and coding tutor for WinF CTRL Your Tomorrow, I’ve found this society an open and supportive community with so many powerful women, which I would love to actively support, in turn, by taking on this role.

About why I fit this role…

  • Actively involved in various volunteer programs and connected with non-corporate potential sponsors: Helpline Volunteer at Youth Talk, Volunteer Teacher at Yes Future, Research Intern at Social  Responsibility Practitioners
  •  Obtained sponsorships cumulatively worthing two thousand pounds for publishing yearbook as the President of Literature Society in sixth form.
  •  Strong communication skills gained as a HR intern at Private Equity and academic representative for Statistics.

About my key goals…

  • Continue to strengthen existing relations with leading firms, organizations, and other UCL societies.
  • Reaching out to entrepreneurs and start-ups to seek a more diverse range of partnership opportunities.
  • Implementing innovative methods to develop intercultural relationships within the society by organising safe socials and networking opportunities

I couldn’t be more grateful for the support WinF has offered me for developing myself, so I also couldn’t wait to give back, by doing something productive and worth remembering for our society.

Pragya Agrawal

From a very tender age, I have been drawn towards feminism and equality. The proportion of women in leadership roles within financial services firms was at 24% in 2021 and is only projected to grow to 28% by 2030, which still seems inadequate. I firmly believe that the current situation can be improved by supporting and encouraging junior women to apply for senior roles. Sponsoring them can prove to be another effective tool.

I wish to join the relations and outreach department because I have immense respect for creative ideas and start-ups. Being the head of the Public relations department in Model United Nations has enhanced my communication and influential skills. During this course, I was responsible for contacting several schools via emails and inviting them, coordinating with department heads on call and ensuring the delegate count, visiting schools and preaching the concept of MUNs to students via demonstrations, and taking care of the guests of honors during the event. This experience has made me confident, outspoken, and welcoming towards different opinions

Having attended the HSBC conference at Canary Wharf further inspired me to contribute towards making finance more accessible to females. I believe being the Head of Relations and Outreach department for this society will educate me, the interaction with ambitious and talented female icons will broaden my horizon and help me become a better version of myself.
