Hello, I am a first-year student studying Economics and after regularly attending social squash sessions throughout my first year and having met all sorts of lovely people through the club, I would be honored to be the Community Officer this coming year. In this position, I would make sure to organize all sorts of engaging events to raise money for charity and promote an inclusive environment for the club. I find diversity to be very important and am especially passionate about gaining interest in the underrated sport and encouraging people to participate more in all the society has to offer. I'm quite excited at the prospect of organizing the Squashathlon as I would enjoy coordinating events that will spark interest in the club for squash players and raise money for causes in need along the way. Having done lots of volunteering and charity work in the past, such as teaching Syrian Refugees for 5 years, actively preparing and donating food to the homeless, and other sponsored charity events, I feel strongly about the importance of donating, especially with the power we have as a large group of people with a joint interest for a sport. Finally, I look forward to working with Project Active and This Girl Can, to boost female engagement with squash as well as the Squash Club's participation in UCL's sport-related endeavors.

I would really appreciate it if you'd vote for me and help turn my ideas into reality next year!

I was a complete beginner myself when I first joined the Squash Club at university. While I was happy that I discovered an amazing sport, it was the exceptionally welcoming environment that made me stay and motivated me to actively attend social squash sessions. Therefore, I am running for Community Officer for the coming year to promote and introduce more students to this positive experience that I have had with the Club. I will put my words into action by:

1) Collaborating with Project Active and This Girl Can — to demonstrate our Club's value for inclusivity; to introduce and allow beginners to participate in this sport in a safe and friendly environment
2) Working towards introducing social leagues — so that players of all levels continue to improve their skills by challenging themselves — through having the optimal level of competition and maximum level of fun
3) Making our annual Squashathon BIG and fun! — I will work closely with the committee and gather everyone's creative juice in organising the best squash-related charity event. It will feel like the most exciting social ever, but you will be participating for a good cause! (win-win — everyone liked that)

Thank you for taking your time to read this and I would really appreciate your vote. I truly hope I could make an impact and encourage more people to join our lovely Squash Club!
