Hi, I am Chiara, a current law undergraduate student. As a writer for the MODO magazine this year, I was able to work in a welcoming and warmhearted environment which I would love to contribute to and develop as your Welfare Officer next year.

I believe that fashion should most of all be a means of expression. It does not abide by any rules regarding appearance or socio-economic background but it is only subject to the law of creativity. This means that inclusivity is at its heart.

During the past few years, I have gained some experience in the field of inclusion by being involved in the ‘Equality of Opportunities’-Committee of the Luxembourgish Youth Parliament for 4 years as a member and co-president.

As Welfare Officer, I would work on including MODO members in the shaping of the society. This could happen through actively taking suggestions and making instagram polls to determine the theme of the magazine and the workshops available.

I also believe that the feeling of being part of an inclusive, diverse and welcoming community could be enhanced through organising smaller events during the daytime, like coffee afternoons or fashion-themed discussion rounds.

Finally, I would aim to make MODO even more inclusive through actively reaching out to students from underrepresented degrees, like postgrad students, in order to ensure that MODO reflects the work and voices of a variety of diverse students.

I would be delighted to work with you next year!
