Greetings foodies!

I'm Aaman, a second year Pharmacy student and I am running to be the Events Co-ordinator for Food Soc in 2022-23!

Food is an integral part of everyone's life- whether its for essential self-sustenance, finding new places/friends or making distinct memories- we can all admit food is something we all think about throughout the day. Prior experience of organising social activities is key which is why I believe I am an excellent fit for this role as I have helped arrange social events in a similar capacity for other societies at university. I am keen to help co-ordinate the society's events next year as I believe the skills and experiences I have gathered so far will be of great use to both the society and its members.

If I am elected, I plan to:

- Organise regular food crawls to both new spots and places popular with our members. This can be through any particular recommendations/cravings, or what the majority want.

- Initiate collaborations with societies that we haven't organised with to explore new cuisines.

- Continuing the successful workshops that were held this year to broaden the appeals and purposes of FoodSoc to UCL. For example, the Public Speaking Workshop was an innovative collaboration that used food to help make a key life skill such as public speaking easier.

Here's hoping that 2022-23 will be a year for us all to savour- no pun intended!

Hi! I would love to be your events coordinator for UCL food society as I have a lot of ideas for next year that will put everyone in a food coma! My priority would be to deliver exciting events for everyone. Events such as food tours, picnics, bake-offs, compeittions, and workshops will take place regularly, allowing members to socialise with like-minded people and to have more cultural expereinces. I would love to be part of the committee in making univeristy life much more enjoyable, ensuring an unforgettable year for members joining the society.

Zuri Zhang

I love food and I will always be craving for more! I am glad I was able to share my passion for food by participating in some of the Food Society events this year. As a fresher, it was a fantastic way for me to meet new people in our community and it furthered my belief that food can bring people together.

As COVID restrictions are lifted, I plan on implementing a wider range of events next year, including themed-monthly events to introduce new cuisines, tasting opportunities in different restaurants, freshers and post-grad focused events, while keeping more food tours, workshops, and collaboration with other societies. I will strive to help unite even more people together with these events I have in mind.

As the role of Events Coordinator is a shared role, it will be important to maintain regular communication with my partner, as well as other committee members in order to put forth and implement the ideas we have in mind. Comprehensive preparation will also be required to plan for an event, and I believe my experience producing and managing various performances this year has helped me gain insight on how to run fun and successful events.
