I'll keep this brief as no-one wants this to be as long as an Epee match
I’ve been a member of UCL Fencing club since September of last year and so far it’s been a great experience. As Social secretary I will create a thriving social environment that seeks to include everybody regardless of experience through:
Regular fencing club pub sessions following Thursday’s training going to infamous venues such as Phineas, but also exploring new places and getting to know old and new members alike.
Mully’s Karaoke nights for those Sabreists who love their music at training and plan to show it by getting out of their silver outfits and performing some karaoke classics.
Taking UCL Fencings’ reputation up to its rightful place as a top tier UCL Sports club by committing to a minimum of 1 UCL Scala sports night a month, including themed nights (With more happening subject to interest)
Classic quiz nights for those who aren't huge party-goers as you help peddle the fencing club’s reputation as the most knowledgeable sports club in UCL.
A plan to have many more joint socials with other London Universities and UCL Sport societies.
Overall, my pledge is to create a prosperous social setting for the fencing club by increasing the amount and diversifying the range of socials taking place. This is to create an enjoyable experience for all and bridge the novice-experienced divide.
