Nov Cap has been my dream since my first outings in 2019, and has remained so through my 3 years in RUMSBC. This role is a wonderful way for me to continue giving back to the club by training up a new generation of rowers whilst also satisfying my mum-vibes (lol).

My previous netball & hockey coaching experience and shadowing Rose have given me a good understanding of the role. To help smooth the improvement curve, I will introduce more warm up/stretching & personalised feedback sessions. I attended a launch driving course & inclusivity discussion groups to obtain the skills & knowledge any captain should have.

I’m proud to say that I have used my previous committee roles to make the club more inclusive with introducing the club calendar to help all members in getting involved with RUMSBC life, creating the welfare newsletter to aid the combat of mental health stigma, addressing part of the financial difficulties by offering discounted unisuits to novices, making a start to our RUMSBC kit bank, as well as introducing the new environmentally & financially better committee stash. I hope to continue this legacy by working with the SW Cap and organising more novice-senior bonding sessions to facilitate fresher integration, as well as collaborating with Men’s Nov Cap to allow for more inter-novice socials.
