Leah Rushforth

I have really enjoyed my first year at UCLBC within the Novice Women's Squad and would love the opportunity to give back some of my time and skills through taking on the role of Fundraising and Alumni Relations Officer.

My Manifesto:

I thought the 48 hour Rowathon was amazing so I will organise at least 1 similar large scale fundraising event next year.

Organising one or more smaller fundraising events each term to raise money for boat repair and maintenance.

Coordinating with the Social Secretaries for some events.

Continuing with and expanding the Bentham mentoring programme to build stronger alumni relations.

Working closely with the media officer to find sponsorships and connect with the Alumni through newsletters and club updates.

Working on long term fundraising strategies with members of Alumni.

My Experience:

1 year rowing at UCLBC

7 years in competitive sports at a high level

Charity events coordinator for 1 year at previous school

Participated in many sporting events raising money for charity (e.g. 100 mile bike ride, 10km three-legged run and more)

Participating in the Bentham Mentoring programme so have an understanding on how its run and its importance.
