Hey! I’m Boss. I think I’d be a good secretary for you all as I am a person who is comfortable communicating with new people whether it be for clients and other professionals as well as members of society. I’m also quite outspoken on anything I don’t think is quite right so I’m not one to shy away from a complicated conversation if it needs to be had!
On the more professional side of things, I have experience as a class rep in my two most recent schools and have always had a good relationship with teaching staff as far as I’m aware. I have encountered very “interesting” situations where I have to suddenly rearrange the class trip due to a sudden storm; a solution that works best for everyone’s interest. I believe that these skills (observation, effective research, problem-solving, data processing and working under pressure) take a while to develop and would be of great use in a situation like this. Whether or not, I become a secretary, I look forward to our fun and productive sessions at UCL.
Communication is the key to everything. If elected, I want to create a good basis of communication between the members and and the society. I want members to be more engaged, more active and more enthusiastic about what the Biopharmaceutical Society will bring them. While doing so, I also want the society to work as smoothly as possible.
I feel my previous roles such as the event coordinator, assistant and student representative in secondary school has provided me with a good basis of planning, time management and communication skills which I think are essential for a secretary.
As a biomedical sciences student specialising in drug mechanisms, my love, passion and dedication for the biopharmaceutics has motivated me to pursue a more influential role within this society, rather than just being a member. That is why I am running for the role of secretary, to seek for the best for this society.
