Hello everyone! I am Madhumila Killamsetty, a 1st-year Msci Biological Sciences student.
I believe I will be a good fit for the Events Director post due to my prior experience in this field in addition to my leadership and management skills.
I was the event manager in my high school for a period of two years and I was in charge of various events ranging from guest lectures to farewell parties. I was able to fulfill my role effortlessly and successfully with the help of my effective communication and teamwork skills regardless of time constraints and added challenges due to the pandemic. I believe this experience and the skills I acquired during this time would be beneficial for planning and organizing various activities.
If elected, I would like to interact with various researchers in the biopharmaceutical industry and organize an increased number of guest lectures and other means of interaction with the members of society. Through social media platforms, I will maintain close contact with the members of society and organize fun events according to their interests including but not limited to pub quizzes and movie nights.
Thank you for reading and I hope you consider me to be your Events Director.
Hello everyone, I am Emily. I am standing for this role because it would allow me to make a change and be involved in the society. I am friendly, dedicated and goal driven to achieve my tasks and organising events is a passion of mine. I am currently a first year Biomedical Sciences student, and so I am very interested in research and development which is something I can bring to this role. Due to COVID, we have been unable to have many face to face events, however now that restrictions are getting reduced I propose to do more events such as getting guest speakers in from multiple backgrounds, eg pharmaceutical, academia, consultancy, etc... to help orientate life-science students. Furthermore, I propose more networking events such as the balls we hear so much about from other societies, and getting involved with pharmaceutical/ life sciences societies from other London universities.
