As a fresher joining the Bhangra Society, with my love of bhangra, by attending weekly classes, not only was it refreshing for me to be welcomed by a society in where there are others like me who love dance, but it has been a great experience to make friends. What I admire about this society is that there is a sense of community which encourages others of all abilities and backgrounds to learn Bhangra.

This is the atmosphere I wish to create as Social Secretary, I plan to organize more events to invite others, to encourage them to learn about Bhangra. Being part of the society has been so fun, yet I feel that there is room for more social events as it seems that this society could attract so many more people who are interested in dance, fitness and the Bhangra culture. I aim to organize social events such as Bhangra club nights, restaurant socials, game nights and much more. 

As a business-owner in the wedding industry, I have developed impeccable communication skills and enjoy networking with other small businesses within the industry. In the Asian wedding industry, there is constant demand for dancers; I think this would be a perfect opportunity to offer performance opportunities to those whom may be interested. I am also an events coordinator for an annual fundraising event in my local area which entails immense planning and organisation. Therefore, I believe that with the experience and skills that I have obtained, I would be a great Social Secretary.
