Asiatic Affairs Society: Welfare Officer and Vice President

Hey! My name is Rie and I am running for the position of Welfare Officer & Vice President of the Asiatic Affairs Society. Again. Last term, I was given the privilege to head Asiatic Affair's Welfare & Vice President positions. I hope to continue and subsequently achieve my aims during this period as well. By becoming a bridge between you and the committee, I aim to ensure a space of inclusivity and safety for all society members. Having been the society’s events executive, I have actively participated in the organization of several socials, speaker events, and publications making me familiar with the society's structure and its day-to-day activities whilst equipping me with the necessary management skills entailed for this role.

If elected, I aim to:
- Work closely with the president to organise more speaker events and socials throughout the year.

- Cooperate with the events officer to collaborate with other societies and host socials 

- Extend the range of our topics addressed during our events - be it speaker or socials - to include regions that aren't as frequently discussed.

- Create online forums for society members to anonymously share events, socials or podcast ideas that they'd like to see.
