As Head of Tutorials, I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside the tutorial team in delivering our tutorial series. Working under uncertainty and tight schedules has enhanced my leadership, time management and cooperative skills, all of which are essential for the position of Treasurer. At the same time, I have seen people from diverse backgrounds with different interests expand their knowledge, undoubtedly making the UCL AI Society the largest community with such a deep technical base.

Nevertheless, I started wondering – what is the true purpose of exchanging this valuable information? In my opinion, it is so that we, as an AI community, can apply our knowledge beyond the society, unleash our potential and make a real impact. As Treasurer, this would be my principal focus.

One way to promote this goal is by starting our own technical startup accelerator hub. Many of our community members would like to co-found their own startup, but most programmes only offer business support, which is not always relevant in the idea stage. Our accelerator would aim to fill this gap by offering help in the founding team formation and technical concept distillation stages. Finally, existing personal and society partnerships would be leveraged to connect idea-stage startups with relevant advisors or VC funds.

I believe that such an approach would allow our community to enter a new stage, where UCL AI society becomes a place where creative and brilliant ideas are born.
