Hi, I am Jeremy. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as the UCL AI Society’s Development Officer; not only has it been an immense privilege to work alongside an exceptionally talented committee, but I can be proud of what we have achieved this year.

Working intensively with Louis on the development team, we succeeded in extending our competition platform, DOXA, to serve as the backbone of Climate Hack.AI, evaluating submissions from around the world that could contribute towards a substantial reduction in UK carbon emissions. Furthermore, I have found meeting, helping and inspiring participants to get involved and learn more about ML – be they absolute beginners or seasoned pros – to be incredibly rewarding.

As Head of Development, I would seek to build on our accomplishments and play my part in taking the following iteration of Climate Hack.AI to the next level; moreover, I am keen to make the most of DOXA as a means of encouraging engagement with and fostering a community around AI, not just at UCL but our international partners as well.

To this end, I hope to have the opportunity to launch weekly challenges integrated with the tutorial series, social tournament events centred on games, such as ultimate tic-tac-toe and Tetris – some potentially developed in project teams – and in-person weekend datathons. I would also look to support the technological infrastructure empowering committee teams, such as our content team.

Thank you for your consideration!
