Artificial Intelligence has recently turned into my passion which is partially attributed to the welcoming community of the AI soc. My journey in machine learning has been thorny but each successfully built network, each correctly programmed custom loss function has brought me so much joy with even more determination to pursue the field further.

As a newbie, I will make sure the content is understandable to everyone in society regardless of their degree. I would try my best to deliver material in the lightest and most humorous way possible to keep the members engaged. Studying physics and molecular biology helped me develop logical, critical thinking and the ability to write decent essays. Moreover, as one of the course reps, my social skills wouldn’t let me down when interviewing academics.

Speaking of the content, I can propose a couple of ideas. Eg. Linking the tutorial series to the weekly events and recently published articles would allow members to consistently build on knowledge. Another suggestion is to list current internship or job/freelance opportunities open to students in ML to help those who are confident in programming navigate the world of work.

Becoming a head of content would be a great opportunity for me to learn more about the field and improve my research skills as a future PhD studentmin computational neuroscience. I have attended several events of the AI society and I have enjoyed each one of them and I’d love to be a part of the team.
