Nadia Golotchoglou

Barev! I’m Nadia, a Politics and Sociology student and I am running for the Welfare Officer position at the Armenian Society.

Why me?

Studying for a full year online in first year, and then switching to a hybrid teaching format has made me understand how important psychological and mental health care is for students and staff.

This is why I find it crucial to ensure that everyone feels welcome, safe and at home while studying at UCL. Moving to a new country, experiencing a different culture and language, and being far from home is hard for anyone, and I believe that being part of the Armenian society brings the community back together and helps in moments when you feel homesick.

I hope to organise some wholesome events to reminisce about home and Armenian culture while being in London, and also provide help and support students with counselling in hard times.

Thank you for trusting me,

Nadia
