Omnia M M Ali

Hello, my name is Omnia and I am a first year studying Population Health Sciences.

Unlike the previous years, our first year at UCL was not as heavily influenced by Covid-19 thus allowing us to enjoy and properly participate in benefits of the society. In the past year, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the ACS as I was surrounded with people who I can finally sympathise with. I hope to continue the tradition of the family and community environment in the next coming years. I would love to be part of the committee as I'd like to continue the positive role the ACS has contributed to most of our lives. I would like to run for Secretary as it is a well-rounded role that assists many of their peers to ensure that the society continues to run smoothly. I believe that I am well equipped to be a competent secretary as I have done several volunteering, helped organise a charity event and raised £15,000 and was a peer mentor in sixth form. I consider myself to be disciplined and a great team worker as I have been working at Starbucks for the past year. As a secretary I aim to:

  • Assist in organization of events and products/merchandise and ensure that they are of high quality
  • Maintain a positive environment within the committee and society
  • Increase number of memberships within society and ensure interaction and connections between all year groups
  • Ensure expectations established by members are met
  • Requirements proposed by members are considered and met
Sade A Adeyemo

Hello everyone, my name is Sade and I’m a first year IMB student running for the ACS Secretary position. I would love the opportunity to take on this responsibility and contribute in creating a supportive and interactive community alongside the committee for all students within ACS.

Having served in various leadership positions, such as a music prefect and Head of House during sixth form, I have been able to cultivate my organisation, collaboration and leadership skills. My responsibilities in these roles included; a) organising students’ rehearsal spaces for practice, b) assisting in all school performances and shows, c) helping with extracurricular clubs, d) organising and overseeing activities and events for 400 students in all years groups , and e) being a role model and approachable mentor for all students.

I believe that I am best suited for this role because I enjoy and posses the ability to relate to a variety of people and I also have varied interests that can enable me to better assist the other committee members. For example, I am very interested in music, dance and sports and during my first year in uni, I have been able to partake in such activities. My passion for these things give me better insight in how I can contribute and assist in the different ACS events like Panafrik, sports events and many more.
