Katherine Taylor

As the current Freshers Rep, I have developed a stronger connection and passion for the spheres of advertising and marketing, encouraging me to run for next year’s Marketing Director.

Creating engaging and inviting promotional material has been a skill set which I have loved to do. With my experience using design platforms such as Canva, Figma, Wix and Procreate, I hope to lend my creativity to this exciting role. As our lives return to some sort of normality and opportunities for speaker events, socials and workshops are to happen more frequently, I want to be able to use my abilities to help promote these endeavours and get others excited about what AMPSOC has to offer!

I believe that my enthusiasm, proactiveness and confidence are traits which I can bring to this position to help not only create content but to engage with members both in person and across our social media platforms.

Boss Tangtokit

Hey! I’m Boss. I think I’d be a good marketing director for you all as I am a person who is comfortable communicating with new people whether it be for clients and other professionals as well as members of society. I’m also quite outspoken on anything I don’t think is quite right so I’m not one to shy away from a complicated conversation if it needs to be had!

On the more professional side of things, I have experience as a class rep in my two most recent schools and have always had a good relationship with teaching staff as far as I’m aware. I have encountered very “interesting” situations where I have to suddenly rearrange the class trip due to a sudden storm; a solution that works best for everyone’s interest. I believe that these skills (observation, effective research, problem-solving, data processing and working under pressure) take a while to develop and would be of great use in a situation like this. Whether or not, I become a director, I look forward to our fun and productive sessions at UCL.

Neha Kurup

UCL's Advertising, Marketing and PR Society provide an unparalleled career-focused and self-developing opportunity to its students, in a field that is increasingly popular and necessary in the 'real world'. My personal 'real-world' work experience in roles such as a social media manager, marketing intern and head of marketing has provided me with an understanding of the realities of being a Marketing Director. Still more, my unique course of 'Psychology and Language Sciences' has fueled my passion for marketing as it has given me a unique insight into how marketing strategies affect human behaviour.

I am standing as a candidate for the role of Marketing Director for AMP Soc because I believe that through my various experiences, I have now developed the key values and hard skills needed for excelling in this role. I am dedicated, determined, organised, hard-working, passionate and have even been trained to communicate effectively with people. Furthermore, my knowledge of using the Adobe creative cloud, various website builders and social media platforms will allow me to effectively carry out my ideas of improving and growing this society. Finally, I wholeheartedly feel that as being part of the committee I can help continue, develop and spread the overall positive and inspiring nature of this society.
